Volunteer Opportunites Spring 2010
Interior Alaska Green Star started as a volunteer effort and remains possible only due to the support it receives from many dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers are a diverse group – students, professionals, office workers, retirees. One thing we all have in common is a desire to make a better world by helping our community reduce waste, conserve energy, reuse or recycle as much as possible, and preserve a healthy and beautiful environment.
If you have the desire and a little time and energy we could really use some help for our upcoming events:
Electronics Recycling Collection
May 21st and 22nd - Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds on College Road – 10am-4pm
Don’t throw away that old television, computer, or cell phone! Interior Alaska Green Star will be collecting old, broken or obsolete electronic items at the Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds parking lot from 10am-4pm on Friday, May 21st and Saturday, May 22nd. Households are welcome to bring items on both days and we are encouraging businesses to bring them on Friday! Fees will be collected to cover the costs of recycling fees and hazardous waste disposal. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Andrea Miller 452-4152 or andrea@iagreenstar.org.
