E-waste is the fastest growing part of our waste stream. E-Recycling prevents toxic and dangerous materials from entering our landfills and allows for many of the components to be broken down and reused.

Our programs and services succeed thanks to the generous support of sponsoring organizations and individuals who understand the importance of waste reduction and recycling. Interior Alaska Green Star is dedicated to furthering these values by continuing to assist and recognize businesses, organizations, schools, and events that strive to reduce waste and improve our air quality.

Financial contributions are always needed and we are very grateful to all of our Sponsors but we are also always grateful for in-kind donations to our Electronics Recycling Program:

  • Pallets – Standard 40″ x 48″
  • Plastic Shrink Wrap/Stretch Film – 80 gauge or better
  • Gaylords – Triple-thickness 4ft x 4ft x 4ft Cardboard Boxes
  • Plastic Buckets with Screw Tops – 5-gallon or smaller sizes
  • Food and Drinks for Volunteers

By making an individual or corporate contribution to IA Green Star, you support our efforts to:

  • Provide an Electronics Recycling Program which has diverted many tons of electronics from our landfill over the past years:
    - 2006: 10 tons
    - 2007: 26.1 tons
    - 2008: 27.0 tons
    - 2009: 33.0 tons
    - 2010: 34.6 tons
    - 2011: 33.6 tons AND COUNTING!
  • Publish theFairbanks Recycling Guide”  – a full-color, multi-page booklet containing maps, charts, and lists to help community members navigate the recycling scene in Fairbanks.
  • Offer presentations about electronics recycling, composting, and other sustainability topics at local schools and other venues.  We also provide outreach and information about these topics at informational booths at the Tanana Valley State Fair and other events and venues throughout the community.
